Blonde again.

Just 3 days and 1 night of call separate me from 2 solid weeks of blissful vacation. I got a pedicure and my hair cut and highlighted today. Vacation ready. The first week will be spent in the Cancun area in Mexico. Ocean view room at an all-inclusive resort for a week. Cannot wait. The second week will be spent at home with my fluffy guy doing whatever the f**k I want. Bring it on.

On the 19th, we celebrated Ashley's 30th (her actual birthday is the 15th) by playing laser tag at Morningside followed by a party. Most everybody left by early evening...it was just Adam, Ashley, Jeff and myself in it for the long haul. The kids went to Adam's parents for the night. We played beer pong, drank a lot, ate Tremont, and laughed A LOT. We had a lot of fun; I honestly cannot recall if I've ever laughed as hard as I did that night ever in my life. If I have, it was a long time ago. Good times. I spent the night in Maria's bed and went home only to get ready to leave again. I drove to MA for the day for Sara and Derek's joint birthday party. I haven't seen Laura since last Nov. and I got to spend some quality time with Brandi.

The following weekend was pretty low key (I needed it). Saturday was a lazy day; Dave and Simone hung out for a bit because they were at the Lebanon airport. We had an early dinner at Gusanoz then watched a movie on Netflix. 30 min. after they left, Ashley and Adam stopped by to hang out for a bit because they were in Leb for the night celebrating their 10 year wedding anniversary. A random day of people I drive to Claremont to see normally, at my house.

The first weekend in October was my first weekend on call. It started 7 am Saturday because Fred took Friday night. Good thing because it was my mom's birthday so I went to Ctown after work and took her and Jeff out to dinner at New Socials. The rest of the weekend was surprisingly quiet; we did 1 stable case both Saturday and Sunday. I hope I remain a white cloud.

Xander went to the vet once again on the 6th, except this time it was just for a rabies shot. He is the lightest he's been in years. His eyes are better but I still think his hearing is decreased. When I came home the other night, he had no idea I was there until I was standing over him in the seal bed :( The vet gave me a print out on Horner's syndrome and it sounds pretty benign. I hope it's nothing serious and he just stays Xander for another 10 years. If not, I'll take more call and take him for a cat scan.

This past weekend, I feel like I was only home to sleep. I went to ctown after work Friday to hang out at the Goss house. Dayna and I went to Burlington for a little shopping (found new winter boots) and a SOJA concert at Higher Ground. Steve and a man friend of hers joined us for chinese food and the concert. It ended up being pretty fun and they put on a good show despite something not being right with the sound. Too loud maybe. Steve may be growing on me a little bit but I feel like, at this point, if I'm on the fence, then it's a no. One thing I do know, I do not date cigarette smokers. That will never change. Sunday, I headed back to Ctown to have brunch with the fam at Revolution for birthdays again. We all went to mom's after for cake and ice cream and to hang out for a bit. It's a good thing that I spent weeks binge-watching 5 seasons of The Walking Dead because season 6 premiered Sunday night. So thankful I get AMC. I'm going to miss it this Sunday because I'll be in Mexico but I guess I'll let it slide.

I wish DHMC observed Columbus Day. Who cares about Columbus, I just want a 4 day weekend. Not much to say about work. It's going fine. I'm finding I have more job satisfaction because our actions make a big difference. It's scary sometimes but the anxiety will dissipate with time and experience. I hope.
