First Blog of the Year

This has been a delightfully quiet weekend at home. Tomorrow, I hope for the same, however, I have some adulting to do. Black Betty is getting a service tomorrow (thankfully since my tire pressure light has been on and I'm terrified to put air in tires) and my contractor is coming over with his plumber in the afternoon to look at a few things. Let's get this bathroom party started so it can be over to leave me in solitude with a bubble bath. I also plan to snowshoe tomorrow and of course random stuffies before I go back to the grind. Yesterday, I was kind of lazy and slept in. Did some laundry, vacuuming, and cleaned up the kitchen. I started today with Barre, grocery shopping followed by meal prep for the week and I threw some spaghetti sauce together. Oh, and more laundry because Xander likes to throw up on my bed and sleep under my covers and blow bougs on my pillows...barf emoji. This past week at work, I was in a good mood, surprisingly. I started the week Monday morning with an icy hike up Ascutney (for the first time in my life) with PA Crain and Adi girl. It took over 4 hours and was a lot of work so I felt very accomplished (not to mention incredibly sore for a few days). I rewarded myself with a hot shower and a stack of pumpkin pancakes. I ended the day with running a few errands after getting some unfortunate news from a good friend of mine. She is very strong and positive so I have no doubt that everything is going to be ok. Just crazy. This day concluded another quiet weekend around home. Saturday morning started with Barre, followed by stuffies and grocery shopping (ran into Dayna and Cory at the Hannafords) and Sunday, I meal-prepped and went for a run (had to take advantage of the mild weather). This past Thursday after work, I went to the CCBA to watch Grace's basketball game. It was so fun (and guilt-free because I could take the night off from working out).

Starting where I left off, the following weekend was the one before Christmas. I was on call Friday and Saturday. Friday night was quiet, I worked out and slept pretty decent. Saturday morning, we did a planned, urgent TAVR and followed with a few floor patients. PA Crain and I prehabbed before heading home for the day. We didn't come back so I was able to have a normal Sunday. I did some wrapping, ran some errands, and grocery shopped. Monday, I went for a run and went to Ctown to hang out with the Goss' for our annual night before night before Christmas. They were finishing up their daycare party when I got there. We visited, did gifts, and grabbed Revolution takeout for dinner. Mike and Kendall were at the restaurant so I got to visit with them for a little bit...it was so nice to see Kendall. Ashley, Adam, and I spent the rest of the night chilling in the basement. I headed home a little earlier than usual because I had to work Christmas Eve. I was able to leave work 230ish Xmas Eve so I was able to shower and head to Ctown at a decent time to have dinner with my mom, Ray, and Jeff. We went to Bellows Falls for chinese food. I was on call Xmas Day for 12 hours so I just bummed around home with Xander. I think it was the first full Xmas I've spent with my baby. I never got called in so I enjoyed a delicious breakfast sandwich and watched movies (National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, A Very Brady Christmas, and the Family Stone).

The following weekend was pretty good. Saturday, I went for a run then headed to Ctown to spend the rest of the day with Simone. She showed me their baby chicks in the basement, opened her gifts and then we played for a few hours (mostly in her disaster area room lol). We made slime, put a puzzle together and played with some of the stuff I gave her. We went to Tremont for dinner and were joined (unplanned) by Susan and Ray Ray. We saw Frozen 2 (so cute) at the theater where we were joined (unplanned) by Val, Molly and her kids. We played for a little while longer at the house before I headed home around 10. Sunday, I hung around home except to grab some groceries. I started Monday with a Dermatology appointment. I ran some errands and cleaned my living room. Apparently, the lesion on my forehead is a warty-looking keratosis that he froze, caused by age...great. It has improved since then but hasn't quite fully disappeared. It may need another treatment. Had New Year's Day off from work, the only thing I recall doing was deep cleaning my kitchen.

The following weekend was another fun one. I started Saturday with Barre and did stuffies for the rest of the day. Sunday, I got up and worked out then got ready to head down to Hooksett to meet Denise, Eric, Faith, and Ryan to see Star Wars in Imax. I was pretty awesome. We went to the Puritan Backroom for food after. I could have swung through Ctown for a dinner invite but I just wanted to grab some groceries and go home. On Monday, I meal-prepped and snowshoed on the Rail Trail with a latte from Lucky's...good times.

Welp, that's basically it. Work's been fairly uneventful, I'm listening to the same Pandora stations to get me through life. The family's been quiet so I've been spending time working on some New Year's resolutions. It's always the same stuff but, this year, I'm putting more effort into reorganizing and getting rid of stuff. I've been good so far...I've sold a few smaller items here and there and my DVD rack. Tomorrow, hopefully meeting the person who wants to buy the floor lamp I've been carrying around since college. Little by little, will work on it throughout the year.
