I'm finding that the older you get, the faster time goes by. I'm turning 28 this year and I really haven't felt any sense of accomplishment since the day I graduated from college. I haven't met any goals since then...I feel it'll either happen all at once or will never happen. So I may as well go back to school and get my masters, right? We'll see.
I'm sitting here in my living room listening to a few guys from Mosely Associates struggle with a plumbing issue I have which began as a leaky bathtub faucett and has transitioned into using power tools and now a hole is being cut into a closet wall. Ugh. They are walking around in their work boots that have encountered god knows what other surfaces so they better stick to the hard surface because I will freak if they step on to the carpet. They need to hurry the hell up and get out so I can friggin mop until I can't mop anymore.
Life has been pretty uneventful (big surprise) since I last wrote. I've done some incentive time at work, which I never thought I'd do voluntarily, to make up for my car being towed under bullshit circumstances. I'm so out of here when my lease is up and I have to decide before then whether to continue renting or buy my own place. The age-old fucking question of should I stay or should I go. I don't think it's realistic for me to think I'll ever leave this place.
We had a girl's weekend in Maine the last weekend in January. Laura found out the week before that she is pregnant. I'm pretty sure the moment she knew she was on the phone with Brandi but could wait a week to tell me "in person". I felt crappy about that decision and it instantly reinforced the third wheel odd man out dynamic between the three of us that has existed since the very beginning. The story of my life. On the other hand, we got facials at a spa on Saturday and that was an absolutely divine experience.
Grace's 2nd birthday party was the following weekend and it was under the bigtop circus themed...Ashley did such a good job decorating. So typical of her to be creative and pull things together like that. Susan is kind of settled in Newport so she had everybody over the following weekend for Puffle's birthday. Lasagna and double strawberry cupcakes...yum. And wine of course...to buffer the feelings around current family events.
I've been to both classes that is required of everyone to prepare for eDH go-live. I don't think it's going to be a big deal but a welcome change that'll make our lives at work easier after the first few weeks. The only real negative is that we are unable to take vacation during this period of transition (although some people are managing to?) so this is the first time since my first year of nursing that I will be without a regular vacation. I'll eaither go crazy or be totally fine. And some people will barely get a summer vacation. I will go crazy if I don't get my request.
One thing I will atleast accomplish is taking the GRE and moving to a better place before the end of 2011. In the meantime, I will eat because I am hungry. Later

It might seem like a burden to have all of these men running around your home and invading your privacy, but it's better to be reassured your plumbing is being taken care of by professional plumbing contractors. Whether you've chosen to rent or buy your own place, always keep in mind that regular maintenance is necessary for essential parts of the house, such as plumbing.
