Low Key Weekends

So I've been getting notifications from my computer that my Norton subscription has expired...come to find out, their partnership with Xfinity has been terminated so I'm passing the download time by powering through this entry. I unsuccessfully tried to do this Saturday but it did not work. So far, it seems to be working now that I uninstalled the older program. I hope this works because I don't need another thing on my to do list and I shouldn't have to get help elsewhere for this simple task. Technology frustrates me. Anyways. My week starts tomorrow and I'm still tired from last week. Thursday and Friday were busy...I got held late Thursday and Friday was crazy because we did 16 cases in 2 rooms after room 5 broke early in the day. This week is a little short because I took Friday off. Brandi and James are coming Thursday for the weekend. Out of all the places he could have gone, he chose to come to my house for his birthday. He turned 8 yesterday. We plan to do fun things and eat a lot of good food. In preparation for next weekend, I had a pretty low key weekend. Saturday morning, I went to Barre. I did a pile of dishes and spent some time on my computer doing stuffies. I got SNAX takeout for dinner and did my grocery shopping. Yeesterday, I did some laundry, met the crew at Trail Break for a Valentine's Day brunch and went cross country skiing on the rail trail. I hadn't been on my skis for years and it felt pretty good. I ended the day with a bubble bath and an episode of Stranger Things. Today, I started the day with a therapy appointment then I got up to do some dishes, laundry and vacuumed the house. I have a few things to do to get ready for company so if I can accomplish that, this, making my computer secure again, and a work out then I will be happy. It will be a miracle if I also clean Xander's potty room. It's a little early but I don't want it to stink while people are staying here.

The aftermath of the capital riot is where I left off last. So Trump was impeached but aquitted by the Senate on Saturday, again. He will never be held accountable for anything...such a just world we live in. I hope he gets what he deserves. Enough of that. I got to meet the new Carter/Dickerson pup named Jace that Friday night. They dropped off a gaming headset for me to use for a podcast. I made them smell my fridge because, for some reason, it smelled propanish to me and I couldn't figure it out. Turns out there were some beans spoiling in a container with a cracked cover. You live and you learn. Saturday, I did some stuffies and had a visit from the Goss family after their outing in Leb. Sunday, I did laundry, errands, grocery shopping, and participated in a podcast about Cardiology with Annie and Megan. It will be released next week :) I ended the day with a bubble bath and a little meal prep. Monday, I cleaned my fridge, did some dishes, went for a run and got my second vaccine. As expected, I felt like poo for a few days. It was nice to take some sick days, watch movies and Biden's inauguration from the comfort of my recliner. Extra time with Xander is also a huge plus. After my shot, I headed out and found a nice picture frame for Megan's group picture.

The following weekend wasn't as low key. Saturday, I went to Barre, did some stuffies and cleaned my bathroom. Sunday, I was on call. We did a couple of cases and Trista and I followed with a prehab workout. We came back a little after midnight for a COVID positive STEMI and ended up being there the rest of the night. It sucked and I was freezing and exhausted by the time I got home. I had some trouble falling asleep but had to get up at 11 for a vet appointment. He got a steroid shot for his asthma and luckily the vet determined the cyst on his back is benign. I also got the price of his food lowered because they agreed to price match Chewy. I felt like crap the rest of the day but managed to do some meal prep, run some errands and clean Xander's potty room.

The following weekend, I got up Saturday morning and went to Newbury. Took the long way home through Newport to get a grinder and say hi to Grammy. I met Emilee for dinner at Applebees for her birthday and got the scoop on recent events in her life. Wow, that is all I could and can say. Sunday, I washed all my bedding, ran errands and took a bubble bath. Monday, I meal prepped, ran some errands (M?), and went to Barre.

Last weekend, I did my Saturday stuffies and grocery shopping. I'm drawing a blank on Sunday so obviously I didn't do much except eat the rest of the salad I made for Megan's party for dinner and probably took a bubble bath. Oh, wait, I tried a Pilates class through the Peloton app. Monday, I had a pest service appointment, ran errands, and did my monthly HOA business. I grabbed some tubs because I'm going to start a project soon. My plan is to go through all of my clothes and shoes and divide them into different destination groups: donate, sell, and recycle. There are a couple places in MA I found that recycle textiles so it renewed my motivation to tackle this task. I need to learn to let go of things and start acquiring more age-appropriate attire. I'll be 38 this year and I still have clothes from college. Enough is enough. Lighten the load, make a lil cash, and be good to mother nature at the same time. It's the little things in life.

I've gone back to my Deftones roots for a bit.

Bernie's mittens are the best.
