Insurrection

Today's entry concludes a weekend following one of the craziest weeks the US has seen. On Wednesday, during the certification process at the Capital, Donald Trump incited a violent mob to storm the building after weeks of crying election fraud. Absolutely nuts. And people still support him. There's talk of invoking the 25th amendment and possibly impeaching him...again. Also calls for him to resign but that will never happen because he resides in a delusional world where he is both a hero and a victim. It's just unbelievable and sickening. I had a quiet weekend at home to contemplate these events and what the future holds. I am scared, I'm not going to lie. I joined this group on Facebook that mainly consists of funny memes but people are also posting things that they've seen on various right wing pages. It's terrifying what these people are saying and threatening. It's very hard to not constantly be thinking about current events but I hope I can do better with occupying my mind with other things like the rest of this entry, my upcoming derm appointment (I hope they don't find anything suspicious), and the run I'm hopefully going to be motivated to do later. Saturday morning, I went to Barre. I spent the rest of the day doing stuffies and got my grocery shopping out of the way. Yesterday, I deep cleaned my kitchen and meal prepped for the week. I chose to take a tubby instead of working out. I also resumed Stranger Things. Hopefully I can accomplish what I intend to today...I've been very distracted lately.

The weekend of the 11th was where I left off last. Saturday, I got up and went to Barre. I did Saturday stuffies and cleaned my bathroom. Sunday, I took a little road trip to MA with Dayna and Cory to try a new store. It was a delightful choice (also received a generous gift from Erin this past weekend). That Monday wasn't anything exciting...just ran errands.

The following weekend, I went to Barre Saturday morning. Did some stuffies then went on a little holiday lights tour with Dayna and Cory. We grabbed some festive lattes at the Starbucks then proceeded to make stops at little la salette, the singing house and Nelmar Heights in Ctown, Jackson Rd. in Cornish (they were shut down-most likely due to the huge snowstorm we got the previous Thursday), and finally La Salette in Enfield. I needed holiday cheer. Sunday morning, I had brunch with a group at Trail Break (they were doing an ugly Xmas sweater party). I spent the rest of the day running errands, assembling Xander's new cat condo (he doesn't use it), meal prepping and making brownies. Monday, did some chores, snowshoed on the rail trail and took a tubby.

The following weekend was Christmas. I was on call for 12 hours during the day and ended up being there most of the day (8 to 4) but only did 2 cases. Lauren and I prehabbed it for a bit before going home. Saturday, I did some stuffies and ended up making an impromptu trip to Ctown to cheer up Ashley (with Lui Lui's take out in tow). Someone had tried to steal the catalytic converter off Adam's work truck overnight and was just the cherry on top of their crap cake (since then, they've learned their lawsuit has been dismissed). Sunday, I cleaned Xander's potty room, ran errands, wrapped Xmas gifts and watched the Family Stone. Monday, I did some chores, got the first of 2 COVID vaccines, and took a tubby. I'm getting the second Pfizer vaccine next Monday.

Last weekend was a real 4 day weekend for me. I took down all my Xmas decorations. Friday, I hung out with the Crain's at their house in Hartland. We did a little hike in the woods behind their house and just ate and drank. Saturday, I did a few chores and headed to Dayna and Cory's for the rest of the day. Lilah died in Dayna's arms that morning so me and the Tomeks converged to hang out, drink, and be present. We laughed a lot, got a little drunk, ordered pizza and binged on Stranger Things. RIP Li :> On Sunday, I did some laundry, errands, meal prep, prepped an HOA deposit and took a tubby. Monday, I deep cleaned my living room and had a virtual therapy appointment.

On December 14th, everyone at work learned that Christine had passed suddenly at home over the weekend. So sad.

A few days before Xmas, Jeff's friend Matt was shot during a traffic stop. He survived but has a long recovery ahead of him. The criminal did not survive.

Rocking out to Outkast radio.

Xander's poop situation has improved so I guess he just needed an adjustment period for his new food.
