Amber is the color of your energy.

It is officially "Spring" but it's not very spring-like outside. I did, however, have some windows open today for a little bit to get some fresh air in my stuffy apartment. Now, I am cold and they are closed. Summer cannot get here soon enough.

The rest of February was pretty uneventful...save a few things. I let my CPR certification expire on accident and luckily had a long weekend to rectify that. Brandi had Mr. James Girard Tainter two weeks before her due date (she was induced) and everything went well. I made a spontaneous day road trip to Maine the following day (the 15th) and surpised her in the hospital. The weather was perfect for a lil road trip and I had Brandi and James to myself for four hours before I headed home. I stopped in Portland on the way home and met Betsy and Cort for dinner. A lovely day. The following day was Mr. Charlie Goss' baptism. Thankfully, I had a long weekend to fit all these activities in.

March has been a fantastic month...for reasons I will divulge at a later date when the time is right. Other reasons include celebrating Simone's first birthday on March 2nd at my moms. We had a tasty buffet that included my mac and cheese, meatballs, baked beans, coleslaw, and of course ice cream and a homemade ducky cake complete with spree and yellow duckies. The following Saturday was the Candyland-themed birthday party for Grace and Maria at the Goss residence.

On March 14th, my mom and I headed out to California for Annie's wedding. We took the Darthmouth coach to Boston and got on a nonstop Jetblue flight to San Francisco. We were only there for three full days between two travel days. It was quick and tiring but it was fun and nice to spend time with family and enjoy California weather. On Friday, we had breakfast at my Aunt's house and just kind of hung out for a bit. My cousins arrived back from their bachelorette night in SF. I had lunch with Jane, Annie, and her friend Petey at In & Out Burger (a delicious California staple). My mom and I checked into our hotel followed by Annie's rehearsal dinner at a local yummy Chicago pizza place. Saturday, we got up and got ready for the outdoor 1130 ceremony at a local community center. The weather was warm and sunny...fabulous. It was followed by the reception with a delicious Mexican buffet. The reception was over by 5ish and a bunch of people met at a dive bar called the Nuthouse later that evening. A small group then migrated to another larger bar with a more club-like atmosphere. Suffice it to say, I had a lot to drink and my Uncle Paul had to be driven back to his hotel at the end of the night. The following morning, we all checked out of the hotel and I headed to San Francisco with Jane, her bf Alex, and her friend Kristina and her husband Dean. We had lunch at Burma Superstar. I saw the Golden Gate bridge from afar. After lunch, we got coffee and walked around for a bit. Kristina and Dean checked in to their hotel then we walked to Union Square (I think?) and just hung out in the sun for a bit. We got back to my aunt's house about dinner time and I had to relax for a bit while Jane and Alex went for a little hike. At dinner, we had Cynthia, Paul, David and Pauline, Virginia and Murphy, Jane and Alex, Annie and Frank, and my mom and me. Conversation turned to cycling and my Uncle Dick and, within moments, everyone around the table was crying. It's hard for me to publicly display emotion and I almost lost it completely when my Aunt Cynthia put her arm around me and asked if I had memories of my Dad. I was nine when he died so of course I have memories of him lol. Difficult memories. Anyways. We had to get up super early for our 7 am flight so we went to bed at a decent time. I walked into my apartment around 8ish? maybe.

So there has been something significant developing during this period (began March 1st) that I really can't elaborate too much on quite yet. Everyone who has ever said to me that things happen for a reason and when you least expect has actually been kind of correct. My fingers are crossed.
