Will it be a Merry Christmas?

We're in the midst of the (expected) fall surge of this damned pandemic and I'm trying my best to isolate. I stayed home on Thanksgiving; I've been doing well although I did go to Dayna and Cory's for a little bit yesterday to drop off a piece of pumpkin cheesecake. It is, however, pretty easy to isolate when you prefer being home to begin with. I'm going to enjoy as much time with Xander as I possibly can from here on. He's actually on my lap now (he needs to clean his bum). His new kidney food is affecting his poop and I hope he adjusts sooner than later because we both need solid tootsie rolls in our lives. This weekend has been low key, I traveled to my electrolysis appointment Saturday morning in some dicey weather but made it home ok, eventually. I popped over to New London after to grab some take out at Tucker's. Did my basic Saturday stuffies and that was it. Yesterday, I finished up some laundry, put away dishes and ran some errands. I started a search for my ice cream and found 3 at Walgreens...then did my grocery shopping only to find, after 2 months, my ice cream back in the store...a lot cheaper than what I paid at W. Oh well...they are priceless. I ended up taking a bubble bath instead of the many other things I should have been doing...for example, this, cleaning my bathroom, and working out. I slept in today and did my HOA thing, the dishes, a few errands (ran into Kendall at Kohl's), and now I have a therapy appointment in a few minutes. After that, I'm going to finish this and hopefully get on the elliptical. I was going to run but I'm not sure if I can bring myself to go outside again. We'll see.

The second weekend in November brought me some out of state visitors (shhhh). Brandi and Laura came for the weekend. They were here to greet me when I came home from work. We had a socially distant dindin at Lui Luis then we watched Clueless and did our nails. Saturday, we got up and relaxed for a bit with coffee. We made breakfast sandwiches and did a little shopping before heading to the rail trail for a walk. Hard to believe now, but it was in the 70s the whole weekend. We had an early dinner at Worthy Kitchen with a very memorable visit from their bestest employee...Miss Kendall. Oh, also pertinent to mention that Biden was officially declared president-elect. Despite his best efforts to date, the orange clown will be getting the boot next month. Bye, Felicia. We ended the day with ice cream and a movie. Sunday, we got up and went to Lou's for breakfast and followed with a little shopping at a cute new home store in Hanover and King Arthur Flour. After the girls headed out, I did some stuffies and ended the day with a bubble bath. Monday, I did my monthly HOA stuff, ran errands and got a massage.

The following weekend, I got up Saturday morning and went to Barre. Did Saturday stuffies and took a little history tour around the Hardy Hill area. The Lebanon Historical Society facebook page has been making historic home posts, one area at a time and I've been totally geaking out on them. Sunday, nothing really notable other than grocery shopping and I filled out a nursing questionnaire for Madison's school assignment. Monday, I meal-prepped, cleaned up, did some yard work (leaf and hosta removal), and went for a run. Also had a pest appointment...I'm hoping that the mouse I found in my basement this fall was an anomaly and not indicative of a new hole into my basement :(

The following weekend, I was on call for 48 hours and it was quite tiring. We got called in late Saturday morning for an ECMO case. Came back around 8ish for a STEMI. Sunday morning started with a sick STEMI. Micaela and I prehabbed it and got paged again when I was almost done with my run. Wasn't home long enough to shower when we came back Sunday night for ECMO #2 and immediately followed with our Saturday evening STEMI because he was still having chest pain. Luckily that went well and we headed home around 0130. Monday, I was kind of toast but I managed to do some basic things like grab some groceries. Luckily, it was a 2 day week. I don't think I could have tolerated another day because I left feeling angry and upset. I took care of a super pretentious guy and all he did was talk about himself and was rude to many people. I had to walk away when I dropped him off because he was complaining about how his room wasn't private enough and that he had been mislead. As far as I'm concerned, people like that don't deserve the care they're given. The entitlement is astounding.

Last weekend, I had a 5 day weekend. I chose not to go anywhere on Thanksgiving; I made a shepard's pie instead. I broke down and ordered a nice artificial tree. It was delivered Saturday morning so I was able to finish my Xmas decorating by that night. I don't remember much of what I did that Friday. At some point, I disassembled and cleaned my window fan. I also cleaned my spare bedroom and bathroom. Sunday, I went for a run (running after dark in December is a mood boost because of the Xmas lights), and took a bubble bath. Megan also called me (very touched) to tell me she was leaving Dartmouth. Trista had already told me. It's super sad because she's an amazing person but where she is going sounds like an excellent opportunity for her. I wish her the best. I ended Sunday by making a pumpkin cheesecake. Monday, I cleaned Xander's potty room, online shopped for hours and went to an evening Barre class.

As of a month ago, I've officially had Xander for 15 years. Lord, it's crazy to think about. I love him.

Tribal Seeds put out a 2020 Live album and I bought it. I'm obsessed.
