I am hanging around home this weekend as it' my call weekend and it's been pretty quiet so far (knock on wood) so I'm taking this opportunity to write this (on time for a change). What's better than a quiet house and a soft, fluffy kitty sleeping at your feet? Not much. I enjoyed a staycation last week, but, unfortunately, it wasn't as restful as I was hoping. After I got out of work on Friday, I met Brandi, Addi, Kelly and Ruby at Lui Luis for dinner. Brandi and Addi stayed at my house until Sunday. We relaxed Friday night with a movie and good ole' chit chat and Ben and Jerry's. After breakfast on Saturday, we got ready and met Kelly and Ruby at Tip Top for some painting. We then went to lunch at Molly's and got some gelato followed by a trip to King Arthur Flour. On the way home we grabbed some goodness at the coop for our go-to dinner, taco salad. We all just hung out, drank margaritas, and looked at old pictures. After Kelly and Ruby left, we ended the night with another movie and the rest of our sinfully delicious pints. We had breakfast at Lou's Sunday morning and they began the trek back to Maine shortly after. The week was pretty uneventful, Tuesday and Wednesday, I went to Claremont to hang out. Tues with the Goss' and Wed with S-bomb. On Tues, before leaving, I went for my first run outside this year and I made it 2 miles without stopping, except just before the end, I rolled my ankle pretty bad and ended up limping for a couple days. I've never done that before :(
Last weekend, I concluded my staycation with 2 concerts back to back in different cities. I don't think I'll do that again as I really haven't recovered yet. On Friday, Dayna and I headed down to Boston to the Paradise Rock Club to see Fortunate Youth and Stick Figure. We had some food at the pub next door prior to the concert and it wasn't very good; it's so sad when food disappoints me. The concert, however, did not. We drove home after so I went to bed early morning and tried to sleep in as much as I could. We headed to Burlington Saturday afternoon and went straight to Citizen Cider for dinner. We checked in to the hotel, freshened up and walked over to Higher Ground to see Passafire and The Expendables. Two other bands played first. Another great show followed by makings friends and hanging out upstairs with some of the band members. It was fun but not as epic as previous after parties. Raul from the Expendables is one of the funniest dudes I've ever met. No time to recover as Sunday was Easter so I headed to Ctown to spend the day with the fam at my Merm's.
The first half of March was fairly uneventful. There was a lil farewell party at Gusonoz for Dayna for her new job. I hung out in Ctown on the 13th with S-bomb. We walked down to the play area at the Maple Ave. school and played for a few hours in the unseasonably warm weather. On the 15th, I drove to Keene and spent the afternoon with Amy and her kiddos at their house. I met the newest Hubbard, one month old Trenton. It was a nice visit.
Work is pretty good and everything else is status quo. I'm coming up on a year in the Cath Lab...my how time flies when you're not miserable.
Time to scrounge for dinner because I'm too lazy to leave my house.
One Drop's version of Down Under is fantastic. That is all.
